Regina Beach is a town on Highway 54, near where Highway 11 meets the Qu'Appelle Valley. It sits on the south end of Last Mountain Lake and becomes a busy lakeside resort town in summer.
What that means for your plumbing
A resort town has many seasonal cabins that sit empty all winter. Pipes left full of water in an unheated cabin will freeze and split. Closing up properly in the fall and opening carefully in spring saves costly repairs; see cabin plumbing.
Beach and recreation
The Regina Beach Recreation Site, run by Sask Parks, stretches along the lake shore with a sandy beach, picnic area and boat launch. The town's neighbour to the east is Buena Vista, with 16 Street marking the boundary.
A lakeside summer town
Regina Beach has long been a summer escape from the city. The Regina Beach Golf Club, a nine-hole course, opened in 1969 along the south side of town, and the Regina Beach Airport lies about 5.6 kilometres south. Cabins and lake homes see heavy use for a few months and little for the rest of the year, which is hard on hot water tanks, pumps and seals. Before opening a cabin, check for split pipes and dried-out seals. Before closing, drain the lines and the tank. Our cabin guide walks through both.
